Series overview
About the series
A ghostwriter enters maximum-security prisons to tell the stories of condemned killers, and begins to wonder who the sessions are really changing.
In each book of this standalone thriller series, ghostwriter Elliot Marsh is sent inside a maximum-security prison to take down the memoir of a condemned inmate before the state carries out the sentence. One killer per book. Each of them caught, convicted, and counting down to an execution date. Each of them certain the world got their story wrong.
They are not misunderstood, and they are not innocent. They are the most monstrous people Elliot has ever sat across a table from, and his job is to climb inside their voice and make a stranger keep reading. Every session, a little more of them comes home with him.
Each case closes inside its own book. But someone is choosing which killers land on Elliot’s desk, and the longer he listens, the more he wonders whether the sessions were ever really about the men on the row, or about what listening to them is turning him into.
Quiet, grounded, and genuinely chilling. Start with Book 1, The Unmissed.
