She Has My Face
“Five women share her face. One by one, they are dying in her clothes.”
Molly Sayer, a Pittsburgh piano tuner, can hear a glass ring a hair flat. But she never saw this coming. At her boyfriend’s birthday dinner, a look-alike website turns up five strangers with her face. Days later, the closest, a Maryland cake decorator, is found dead in her bathtub, wearing a cardigan stolen from Molly’s closet. Yet nobody has broken into Molly’s house.
Desperate for answers, Molly drives south to warn the others. At the funeral, the dead woman’s mother sees Molly and collapses, while another woman with Molly’s face slips out of the back pew. In Virginia, the next target shows Molly her apple orchard. But back at her car, Molly finds directions to that woman’s house under the wiper, in her own handwriting. Soon after, the orchard owner turns up dead at the foot of her cellar stairs. And left at the scene is one of Molly’s wine glasses, prints on the stem.
So when a police corporal slides an ink pad toward her and says, “Then you won’t mind,” Molly pushes it back.
An innocent woman would clear her name. Why won’t Molly?
